Detroit Lions
The Lions are an interesting team. I would not be surprised to see them win the division or finish in last place.
On offense they have a ton of talent across the board. If Stafford remains healthy he can be a top 10 QB in the league. The receiving options are strong as well with Golladay, Jones and Amendola at WR. I expect TE Hockenson to have a breakout year in his second season and contribute as a receiver and a blocker. This offense has a chance to be really good if they can get Kerryon ans Swift going on the ground.
Defense is what will decide what this team does this year. Last season they finished towards the bottom in every area so the front office totally revamped the defensive roster. If they can have an above average season then this team can go to the playoffs.
Green Bay Packers
The defending division champions are the favorites to win it again.
I am interested to see how Rodgers responds to them surprisingly drafting his potential replacement in the first round. Outside of Adams, the Packers don’t have many receiving options. They will need a huge year from Aaron Jones to take some pressure off of Rodgers.
Green Bay was surprisingly good on defense last season when they finished in the top 10 in points against. If they can improve on their 23rd ranked rush defense i could see this team winning the division once again.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are another team i could see winning the division.
The offense is lead by an inconsistent QB in Kirk Cousins. It will be really interesting to see how he does with the loss of Diggs. They did draft a capable replacement when they picked up Justin Jefferson in the first round. The Vikings will need him to adapt to the NFL very quickly for the passing game to take some pressure off of Dalvin Cook.
The defense has lost some players but still should be just fine. They may take a bit of a step back with the losses of Griffen, Alexander, Waynes, Rhodes(might be a good thing) and others. Zimmer should get this unit playing well once again.
Chicago Bears
The Bears are a team i don’t think can win the division this year.
The offense is the weak link for this team. It won’t matter if its Foles or Trubisky as both are below average QB’s. The Bears don’t have many receiving threats outside of Robinson. Anthony Miller has potential but i don’t think he will reach it with the current QB situation.
The defense will have to carry this team for them to have a shot. The Bears will likely have a top 10 defense again but i don’t think it will be enough to make the playoffs.
